The season's first snowfall.

This morning we woke up to our first snowfall.  It was only a dusting, but it was still very exciting to all of us.  However, it was a little bittersweet as well since we were supposed to leave on our snow skiing trip this morning, to Snowshoe Mountain, WV.  Our 5 day trip was canceled due to the resort delaying their opening due to the warm, dry weather.  Even with over 150 snow guns, they couldn't overcome Mother Nature.

Well, John has been growing a very full beard these past couple of months.  Today he decided to shave it, leaving only a goatee.  When he came out from getting showered and cleaned up, my jaw dropped at that clean shaven face.  I called to the kids to come look at daddy's face, what was missing?  Allie immediately said "his whiskers!".  Later that morning, John had a conversation with Allie that went like this:

John:  "How do you like Daddy's face without his whiskers?"
Allie:  "Now you can't go snow-sledding!  You can't go snow-sledding without your whiskers."
John:  "That's OK, they'll grow back."
Allie:  scrunching her face up..."How?  Seeds?  Whisker seeds?"

Haha!  Can you tell our children are growing up on a farm???
