exciting day

First, we are buying a new John Deere 4x5 round baler! This morning John was feeling better after sleeping in until almost 9. Thankfully he didn't have to go back in at all last night. Yay! So he made some calls and we have been discussing the baler issue. We have been hem-hawing around about another hay baler as ours is crap and we have hay that needs to be cut. After just buying the tractor we aren't exactly jonesing to pick up another payment. After some calling around though he found a great deal on a new one with a dealership we have dealt with before, we actually bought our old used one from them and the guy has offered to give us the exact money back for it as a down payment - we were ready to haul it to auction weeks ago and just haven't gotten around to it and I am sure we wouldn't have gotten this much for it. So, it isn't a done deal yet but on its way to being there and it will be such a relief to have trustworthy hay equipment! We also joined the Maysville Country Club after deliberating all summer. They have been holding a membership drive with reduced joining fees/monthly dues and we still weren't sure we wanted to do it. Lots of pros to it, just didn't want to turn loose the money especially with everything else going on. After much discussion with Larry (John's dad) we decided to go for it. So, we met with the vice president around 11:30 and toured the club and then he invited us to stay for lunch. Great food and conversation and we are glad to have joined! John and Asher both want to golf and who knows, maybe I will get into it too after my back is functioning properly. There is also tennis and the pool and various functions held. We got home a bit late for Allie's nap, as has been the case lately. It is almost 2:30 pm and she is still not asleep. John is getting ready to get on the tractor to cut hay. He had to haul our old dryer and an old fridge (that was left from previous owners) into the driveway area for the Junk Busters to come haul off this afternoon - that's a couple that picks up for free any old metal and old appliances and then I am sure scraps them for $$. Fine by us as we aren't willing to tear it all apart and haul it in for scrap. We were going to take them to the dump and have to pay. So this way they aren't left in a landfill and will mostly be recycled. I wanted the old deep freeze to be gone, too but John wants to hang onto it for a couple of reasons. The pool chemicals are stored in that old fridge and he will store them in the deep freeze now. And the old fridge doesn't work, we tried it, but the deep freeze would work in a pinch if we needed it to. OK, outta here. Got to catch up on some account stuff I didn't get to this morning, too busy with pictures. And thought maybe I would try to scrapbook or sew but not sure if I will. I need to strip down the bed in there and clean up a bit, too. Oh, Mimi & Papa left early this morning, they actually waited around so they could see Ash off on the school bus. It was a great visit, just a tad too short but still glad they came. We never know when we will see each other again and just try to enjoy the here and now. Here is a super cute pic of Papa and Asher.
