My heart is heavy.
Last night I got a call from my best friend Ginger. They found out a few days ago that her nephew, a 10 year old, had bone cancer but they weren't sure what kind/stage although they suspected pretty advanced as the tumor (on his hip) is the size of a grapefruit and he could no longer walk he was in such pain. The doctors had diagnosed him with 'growing pains' awhile back - wrong! Anyway, they got the results of the biopsy last night and it is really, really bad. It is Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of cancer.

He is at one of the best children's hospitals in the country! This is going to be a long road for them. Chemo for a year is what they are saying before they can even remove it, it is so large. Survival rate is low, 10-30% as it has metastasized. My heart is breaking for Ginger and her family. Please, please, please pray for him, his name is Trevor, for a miraculous healing, and the entire family to make it through this and turn to God.
I look at my 2 kids and breathe a prayer of gratitude for their health. Life is so precious, so fleeting, and in an instant everything can change. My word this month never felt so close, CHERISH - a daily reminder to hold your family near and love them like there's no tomorrow, because you just don't know what is around the corner.
I am praying furiously for this little boy. I am praying for a miracle for this family.
